My Friends

The Olympic games were surely the highlight of the past month. In addition to the games, we were fortunate to hear excerpts of Maya Angelou’s poetry during several commercial breaks. The poem, Still I Rise, reminds us that we can overcome any obstacle or challenge.

I especially liked the poem, Human Family, also by Maya Angelou. Be reminded, that while our customs, traditions, and heritages may differ, we all have life experiences, relationships with one another, and engage in time in a similar manner. “We are more alike, my friends, than we are unalike.”

“We are more alike, my friends, than we are unalike.”
